It’s time to expand the Arizona Nurse Practice Act.

That means allowing nurses to practice to the full extent of their education and training.

Long overdue, this legislation led to a historic merger of local nursing forces as the Arizona Nurse Practitioner Council, Arizona Chapter of the American College of Nurse Midwives, Arizona Association of Nurse Anesthetists and Arizona Clinical Nurse Specialists formed a collaborative partnership – the Arizona Coalition of Advanced Practice Nurses – to support this critical effort.

The first big hurdle comes at 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 7, when we face a key legislative committee. We will be assembling prior to the committee meeting at 8 a.m. for a press conference to rally support for this legislation from across the state.

That committee needs to hear from you, because YOU’RE the policy expert when it comes to Arizona healthcare.

Please join us at the Arizona State Capitol (1700 W. Washington, Phoenix) and show support for your nursing colleagues as they testify in front of the committee about the importance of APRN.

Wear your lab coat or scrubs. Or just your stethoscope. We’ll provide the special button that shows you’re a member of our team!
