The annual symposium is held to review and update current concepts in clinical and practice management for advanced practice nurses and advanced practice nursing students. Almost all of the breakout sessions contain pharmacology contact hours.

Keynote Presentation

   

"Health Policy and the Nurse Practitioner in Today's Environment"

 

Heather Ross, PhD, DNP

Dr. Ross is a clinical assistant professor affiliated with the School for the Future of Innovation in Society (SFIS), College of Nursing and Health Innovation (CONHI), and Global Security Initiative (GSI). Her research interests include biomedical technology innovation in complex sociotechnical systems; interdisciplinary team work in health care, including non-traditional team members; cardiac electrophysiology; implanted and wearable medical devices; and person-centered care.  She was a candidate for the U.S. Congress in the 2018 election.

Cancellation Policy: Refund for registration cancellations will be processed until July 15 less a $35 administrative fee.  No refunds after July 15.

Continuing Education

  • The SW Regional Nurse Practitioner Symposium provides up to 9.25 nursing continuing education contact hours. Pharmacy contact hours are also available and have been calculated, see sessions for the number available.
  • The Continuing Nursing Education Group is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)Commission on Accreditation.
  • Conference Goal: To review and update current concepts in clinical and practice management for advanced practice nurses
  • Target audience: Advanced practice nurses and advanced practice nursing students
  • Participants must attend the entire event to receive contact hours. A CE certificate will be electronically generated after an online conference evaluation is completed
