The Preceptor Grant Program
As part of 2022 House Bill 2691, preceptors may apply for a grant from the statewide nonprofit organization that represents their discipline and that is allocated grant monies. The Arizona Nurses Association was awarded a portion of the grant money for APRNs and is able to supply grants to APRN preceptors of registered nurse practitioners, certified registered nurse anesthetists, certified nurse midwives and clinical nurse specialists. This grant runs until June 2026 or available funds are depleted, whichever occurs first.
Preceptor Eligibility: A certified nurse midwife, a certified registered nurse anesthetist, a clinical nurse specialist, or a registered nurse practitioner who is licensed pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 32 and who serves as a volunteer preceptor for an Arizona graduate APRN student for a minimum of 4 weeks, may apply for a grant from the Arizona Nurses Association. Preceptor Requirements:
* Legislation defines "graduate student" as an individual who is studying at the graduate level at an accredited institution of higher education in Arizona and who is seeking a degree in the areas of doctor of medicine, doctor of osteopathic medicine, certified nurse midwife, certified registered nurse anesthetist, clinical nurse specialist, registered nurse practitioner, physician assistant or dentist.
