Mission: Improve the health of Arizonans and advance the practice and professional status of Arizona Nurse Practitioners (NP) through advocacy, education, networking, and community involvement.
Vision: Arizona Nurse Practitioners are recognized leaders and essential providers of accessible, equitable, and patient-centered health care across all communities in Arizona.

Organizational Affiliation:
The Arizona Nurse Practitioner Council (AzNPC) serves as the state-level affiliate of both the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Nurses Association (ANA). Through these affiliations, AzNPC represents the interests of Arizona’s nurse practitioners at the national level and aligns its advocacy and professional development efforts with broader nursing and healthcare policy initiatives.

Diversity Statement: The Arizona Nurse Practitioner Council (AzNPC) is strongly committed to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within our Association. These principles are essential to ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members and fostering an organizational culture that reflects the communities in which we serve and live. AzNPC leadership is dedicated to actively recruiting, supporting, and retaining a diverse membership and leadership body that contributes to equitable health outcomes for all Arizonans.

Statement of Acknowledgment: ANA Code of Ethics The Arizona Nurse Practitioner Council (AzNPC) upholds and affirms the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics as the foundation of our professional conduct and practice. We are committed to:

·         Practicing with compassion and respect for every person’s dignity and worth.

·         Advocating for the health, safety, and rights of our patients and communities.

·         Promoting professional integrity, accountability, and ongoing ethical reflection.

·         Building collaborative relationships to advance nursing, social justice, and public health.

These provisions guide our leadership, clinical practice, advocacy, education, and engagement within the broader healthcare system.

Goal 1
Influence policy that achieves health equity, promotes wellness, and improves health care delivery
  1. Promote diversity among Arizona NPs to enhance recognition of NPs as health experts on policymaking aimed to eliminate institutional and systemic barriers that contribute to health inequity.
  2. Disseminate evidence among the public and key policy stakeholders within public, industry, government, and organizational groups that NPs provide safe, quality, and accessible health care for wellness, health promotion, behavioral health, and serious illness.
  3. Support NP advocacy by education, actively soliciting member engagement, and amplifying NP voices to inform legislators on priority policy issues.
  4. Cultivate future leaders in policy and health equity through promotion of Advocacy Training and formal mentorship pipelines to guide emerging leaders.
Goal 2
Advance scholarship in NP practice
  1. Engage in planning and offering educational programs that support lifelong learning for emerging and experienced NPs, including specialty certifications, practice updates, and leadership development.
  2. Champion increased and sustained investment in the education of the current and future NP workforce
  3. Develop financial policies and models that will sustain continuing education initiatives and provide for scholarly contributions.
   Goal 3
Disseminate current and accurate information about the NP role and contributions to improve health
  1. Communicate with state NPs via social media, targeted newsletters, webinars, and mobile-friendly digital platforms.
  2. Increase public awareness of NPs through education and by highlighting the impact of NPs in healthcare and legislation
  3. Engage in collaborative communication initiatives with local and state APRN groups, as well as community and patient organizations.
Goal 4
Position NPs to increase local and state involvement with consumers
  1. Foster community involvement and leadership among NPs
  2. Seek opportunities to engage with racial, ethnic, and cultural groups to diversify membership, promote inclusivity, and inform initiatives that focus on improving health among marginalized, underserved populations.
  3. Host regional networking mixers and virtual town halls to build connections and enhance local presence statewide.
  4. Actively recognize NP leaders advancing health, advocacy, and the profession in Arizona communities through awards and member highlights.
Goal 5
Grow and diversify membership to strengthen AzNPC's statewide impact
  1. Expand outreach to NP students, rural nurse practitioners, and underrepresented groups through strategic partnerships.
  2. Invest in cultivating a culture of volunteerism by clearly outlining engagement pathways, celebrating contributions, and removing barriers to participation.
  3. Establish a mentorship network that connects early-career NPs with experienced members for professional guidance and career development.
  4. Implement leadership mentorship opportunities to prepare interested members for future board or committee roles, increasing volunteerism and leadership succession planning.
