Climate Change and Our Health: Nurses Taking Action

In the News

In the past few weeks articles about health and the climate have populated headlines in nursing and health publications including Climate change is causing fungal pathogens to spread: Here's what providers should know, Making Good on Climate Pledges for Health Care and the National Academy of Medicine’s new Grand Challenge on Climate Change, Human Health and Equity.

Also, the Arizona Health Professionals for Climate Action hosted the Arizona Climate and Health Summit for Health Professionals on November 15th that provides an excellent introduction to the importance of our action, featuring Dr. Amy Collins, ‘Climate Change, Health and Health Care: How Health Professionals Can Help’.  Here is one of several key points made during the Summit.

Today’s Action

Sign on to a letter calling for climate action (the names of the Arizona Congressional members will be updated after 12/5 when the election results are official). If you support this ask, please sign and consider sharing the organization letter with your colleagues and health organization to see if they would like to sign as well. Nurses can help move climate action by becoming part of the solution.
