As part of 2022 House Bill 2691, preceptors may apply for a grant from the statewide nonprofit organization that represents their discipline and that is allocated grant monies.
The Arizona Nurses Association was awarded a portion of the grant money for APRNs and is able to supply grants to APRN preceptors of registered nurse practitioners, certified registered nurse anesthetists, certified nurse midwives and clinical nurse specialists.
Money is awarded first come, first served with priority given to rural providers. Grant funds are ending this fiscal year.
Preceptor Eligibility: A certified nurse midwife, a certified registered nurse anesthetist, a clinical nurse specialist, or a registered nurse practitioner who is licensed pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 32 and who serves as a volunteer preceptor for an Arizona graduate APRN student for a minimum of 4 weeks, may apply for a grant from the Arizona Nurses Association.
Award Amount: Preceptors are limited to one $1,000 (one thousand dollars) grant per state fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) regardless of the number of preceptorships the applicant provides in that year.
