Posted By Administration, Friday, July 22, 2022
Updated: Thursday, July 21, 2022

Central Arizona Area Health Education Centers (CAAHEC), has an excellent training opportunity for those working with parents. “MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING SKILLS FOR TALKING TO PARENTS ABOUT VACCINES, A TWO-PART SERIES**”, will be held on AUGUST 16th & 18th, 9:00am-12:00pm.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a particular way of having a conversation about change, so it is the client rather than the clinician who voices the arguments for change. This class is for the Healthcare professional who wants to better engage parents in conversations about immunizations for their children. How to use specific motivational interviewing skills and strategies will be discussed.

**You must plan to attend BOTH 3-hour webinars. MI training sessions will be held via zoom, and it is expected that participants attend with both computer video and audio capability.

ANA: National Advocacy News

Posted By Madi Moyer, Friday, July 8, 2022
Updated: Wednesday, July 6, 2022

This year, 300 nurses attended ANA's Annual Hill Day in DC. This annual event is an amazing opportunity for nurses and nurse advocates to meet face-to-face with members of Congress on issues important to their profession and their patients. This year, health care workers from 46 states conducted more than 275 meetings with their congressional representatives, senators, and staffers. The top three issues of focus included Improving Senior Timely Access to Care Act, The role of APRN's and Elevating the value of nursing.

ANA also encouraged nurse advocates from across the country to take action specifically around elevating the value of nursing and thus far 1,508 advocates have sent 4,482 letters to their members of Congress. You too can send a letter to help advocate and elevate the value of the nursing profession.
