Educational Events and Research: Creating a Mentally Healthy Workplace Culture Webinar

Join international speaker, trainer, and author, Kim LaMontagne, for a presentation on the effect of stigma in the workplace and gain tools to foster a mentally healthy workplace culture. Participants will learn the definition and types of stigma and discrimination, presenteeism, the impact in the workplace, the power of words, and examples of the use of person-centered language when creating a mentally healthy workplace culture. The webinar is on demand and can be accessed here. One contact hour can be earned upon watching the webinar and completing the evaluation.

ANA: HHS Releases $103 Million Aimed at Reducing Burnout Among Health Workforce

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced July 16 the availability of $103 million in funding to reduce burnout and promote resiliency and mental health among the nation’s health care workforce. HHS is targeting these funds with the recognition that frontline health workers may face many challenges and stress. Read more.

Educational Events and Research: Mobilizing for Action - Nurses’ Advocacy Training for Climate & Health Equity Webinar

This August, the Alliance of Nurses for Health Environments (ANHE) is launching a month of action to call for big and bold investments in climate solutions. To kick off the month off action, join us on July 28th at 11am -12pm Arizona time for an advocacy training specifically for nurses to learn more about the upcoming opportunities to make your voice heard in calling for investments in clean energy, healthy communities, and equitable climate solutions. Whether you are a seasoned advocate or new to advocacy, this training will prepare you to speak out on environmental health issues of importance to you. Free nursing continuing education credit provided. This course is pending approval by the California Board of Registered Nurses, Provider Number CEP17198. Speakers include Toby Short (Associate Vice President, Federal Affairs, Environmental Defense Fund) and Cara Cook, MS, RN, AHNBC (Director of Programs, Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments). Register here.

Safest Drug aims to reduce medication harm at various levels and will be sponsoring a free webinar with Dr. Tomika Williams, a nurse practitioner and assistant professor of nursing at East Carolina University.
