Educational Events and Research: Join Az Heroes Research Project

Posted By Administration, Friday, August 28, 2020
Updated: Thursday, August 27, 2020

COVID-19 has significantly impacted every individual across the state. By joining the AZ Heroes research project at the University of Arizona sponsored by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), you can monitor your health on a weekly basis and have timely information on how best to protect yourself and your loved ones.

As a participant, you will be enrolled in the study for one year, during which you will test yourself on a weekly basis for the virus that causes COVID-19. This weekly test, at no cost, will provide piece of mind to know if you have contracted COVID-19 and help mitigate the spread to loved ones or coworkers. No lines. No cost. Quick and accurate results.

It will also allow employers to know who and how many employees have been exposed to the virus (or if nobody has been exposed) to help make better decisions about precaution measures, staggering work schedules, and work assignments.

AZ HEROES Participants will:

• Participate in weekly short surveys and at-home COVID-19 tests for up to nine months

• Answer questions and complete at-home COVID-19 tests if they become ill during the study

• Complete surveys about their COVID-19 history, risks, and occupational exposure 3 times

• Go to Sonora Quest for a blood draw 3-4 times to test for antibodies

ANA: Draft Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, Fourth Edition

Posted By Debby Wood, Friday, August 21, 2020
Updated: Thursday, August 20, 2020

ANA seeks public comment on the Draft Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, Fourth Edition. The working group has revised the definition of nursing, extensively reorganized the scope of practice statement and included a new representation of the nursing process and two new models, added new Standard 8 Advocacy and its accompanying competencies, and reordered the Standards of Professional Performance. Your input on all the changes intended to enhance readability and usability will provide critical guidance for the final revision of this foundational nursing publication. Please invite nursing peers and other healthcare colleagues, faculty, students, administrators, legislators, Board of Nursing members, and other stakeholders to review and provide comments and recommendations.

First, review the draft document and then submit ALL your comments at one time via the designated form accessible here. Please be sure to include page numbers and specific line numbers associated with your comments and recommendations.

Closing date for submissions is Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at midnight ET.
