The scholarship committee of the Arizona Nurse Practitioner Foundation is needing members to help with the selection of scholarship awardees. You will be asked to review about 5 applications using an established rubric. Time commitment is approximately 2 hours twice a year. Please consider being a part of this very important effort

Description: Registered Nurses to staff general population shelters (40)
Resource Description: The primary role of the RN is to provide health care to individuals, families, and communities. The RN provides services designed to promote health, prevent illness, and achieve optimal recovery from or adaptation to health problems. These services may include but are not limited to assessment of the patient's and family's health status and needs (physical, emotional, psychological and social), clinical treatment, teaching, counseling, coordination of multidisciplinary care, and other patient care needs as assigned in a functional or degraded environment in a variety of settings or assessment and intervention at a community level. The RN possesses the education and experience in the practice setting commensurate with the mission assignment. Unencumbered NC RN License or approved to practice via the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
Description: Mental Health Professionals (50)
Resource Description: Mental Health professionals (masters level or higher) to staff any general population shelters in response to Hurricane Dorian. Provide care to individuals, families, and communities so they may retain, maintain and recover optimal behavioral health and quality of life. MH professionals provide services designed to assist with response to traumatic events to include but not limited to supportive counseling, care coordination, and crisis management. Licensed professionals are preferred, but masters-level staff with capability to consult with a licensed professional is acceptable. Resources will be dispatched to various locations as needed in groups of 4 to 6.

The Philippine Nurses Association of Arizona (PNAAZ) is holding their annual conference on Saturday, September 28, 2019. This year’s theme is “Nurse Advocacy: Self-care, Patient-centric, and Community involvement.” It is intended for nursing students, nurses, advance practice nurses, pharmacy technicians, pharmacist, other health care professionals, and veterinary staff. A spectrum of topics will be discussed in order for attendees to become effective advocates by increasing their knowledge, skills, and motivation to improve self-care and patient outcomes and engage in local legislative activities in their community to enhance population health.
6.25 contact hours was approved by the Continuing Nursing Education Group (CNEG), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
Registration fee includes breakfast and lunch.
