Come join the Grand Canyon Chapter of the Association of Perioperative Nurses for their 1st chapter meeting of the year. The meeting starts with a 1 CE education presentation on surgical smoke, complimentary lunch and business meeting. It’s a great way to get free education and network with colleagues from all over Arizona. More information

Educational Events & Research: Uranium Mining and the Grand Canyon Region - Opportunities for Nursing Action Webinar

Join the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments' Policy and Advocacy Work Group for a webinar Uranium Mining and the Grand Canyon Region - Opportunities for Nursing Action on September 5th at 12-1 PT/3-4 pm ET. 1 hour of free CE available for attendees! For seven decades, uranium mining has left a deadly legacy of air, water, and soil contamination across Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. The webinar will feature speakers Amber Reimondo, director of the energy program for the Grand Canyon Trust, a regional conservation organization with a mission to safeguard the wonders of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado Plateau, while supporting the rights of its Native peoples and Dr. Tommy Rock, a researcher investigating the impacts of uranium mining on the Navajo Nation. Learn more about the threat of uranium mining to the Grand Canyon region, the campaign to address it, and some ways that the nursing community can get involved!
