The American Lung Association is excited to share that its 3rd Annual Lung Force Expo is taking place March 30, 2019 at Black Canyon Conference Center. The LUNG FORCE Expo is a program designed for patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to learn more about the latest trends, resources and research surrounding lung cancer, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension and other chronic lung diseases. With different tracks for patients and caregivers and healthcare professionals, this one-day event features experts from a variety of lung health-related fields presenting on current research and hot topics, an exhibitor showcase, free health assessments, continuing education for professionals, and a chance for patients, caregivers and the local medical community to connect. When a woman or family is facing an unintended pregnancy, hospital staff are sometimes the first point of contact and it is important that nurses, counselors and social workers have up to date information related to adoption law and the adoption process as well as have skills in non-directive, non-coercive options counseling. AzNA: GPAC Chapter 1 - Nominations Committee Members Needed

Greater Phoenix Area Members:

It’s time to begin the process for board member elections. We will be recruiting a nominations committee. The nominations committee will be responsible for preparing a slate of officers and conducting the election for our 3 open board positions. The nominations committee will require 3-4 meetings approximately 30-60 minutes each, between March 1, 2019 and May 31, 2019. All meetings will allow virtual attendance. If you are interested in participating in the nominations committee, we will have a call for those interested on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Jenny Simon is a higher-education professional with a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) focused on Transformative Learning and Change from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Maintaining a 97% approval rate, she is an experienced Adjunct Faculty with a demonstrated 19-year history of teaching adult learners. Dr. Simon served as the Clinical Director for a CACREP program, supervising students for their Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Focusing on Trauma and EMDR work, Jenny is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Arizona.  She is an accomplished public speaker for over 20 years and has been consulted for TV and magazine articles about stress.
