E&R: 8th Annual Arizona Simulation Network Conference

SPEED: Simulation Program Evaluation, Education, and Development. The AZ Simulation Network is pleased to announce that Vickie Mudra, our keynote speaker, will be presenting on Program Evaluation; an abbreviated version of the presentation with Kim Leighton and KT Waxman at the recent INACSL conference. AZ SimNet would like to encourage all simulationists to submit an application to present their work. The Call for Abstracts link can be found on our home page.

ANA: ANA Board of Directors Appoints Jones as Vice President

The American Nurses Association (ANA) Board of Directors announced Thursday, August 30th, that Faith M. Jones, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, has been appointed vice president of the board effective January 1, 2019.  She will assume the role when current Vice President Ernest Grant, PhD, RN, FAAN, becomes ANA President. Dr. Grant was elected in June and will be the first man to serve as president of the association.

 

Consistent with ANA’s Bylaws and ANA Board policies, the board solicited nominations to fill the vacancy for the remaining one-year term of the vice president.   Jones currently serves as director-at-large on the ANA Board until December 31, 2018 and will then serve as vice president for one year, with her term ending December 31, 2019.

The 2018 Arizona Stroke Conference is a joint collaboration between all Arizona hospitals.  The Arizona Stroke Conference has extensive neuro stroke expert faculty presenting each day of the conference.  November 1st will be a focused symposium stroke education day for nursing, practitioners, therapist, EMS and stroke survivors with their care partners. November 2nd and 3rd will have a professional focus on stroke care. More Information
