On average, Americans spend 90% of their time indoors. Understanding the importance of indoor air quality is crucial for nurses, as poor air quality can exacerbate respiratory conditions, affect vulnerable populations like children and the elderly, and contribute to chronic illnesses. By being informed about these risks, you can better educate and advocate for healthier environments, ultimately improving patient care and public health.

Health professionals are 12-23% less likely to vote than the general population. Registered nurses are 10% less likely to vote than the general population.
What does it mean for our healthcare system when health professionals--the people on the floors of our hospitals 🏥 and clinics who see the real impact of policy on our patients and our institutions--don’t vote?
Low voter turnout is a critical issue that affects community health. States with more voting access have better health. A more civically engaged community increases government accountability, promotes inclusive policy-making, and improves health policies that address the needs of the entire population.
VOTE-ER works to increase nonpartisan voter registration to foster a healthier democracy, through the positive impact of voting as a social determinant of health.
Learn more and commit to nurse the vote!
