ANA: ANA President Jennifer Mensik-Kennedy named to Modern Healthcare's 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives

The American Nurses Association (ANA), the premier organization representing the interests of the nation's more than 5 million registered nurses, is honored to announce that ANA President Jennifer Mensik Kennedy, PhD, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, was recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives for 2024.

This prestigious program honors licensed clinicians in executive roles deemed by their peers and the senior editors of Modern Healthcare to be paving the way to better health through their executive responsibility, leadership qualities, innovation, community service, and achievements inside and outside of their respective organizations.

ANA: ANCC 2024 Magnet Conference Registration Now Open!

Registration is open for the ANCC National Magnet Conference® and the ANCC Pathway to Excellence Conference® in New Orleans, Louisiana at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from October 30 - November 1. Also held in conjunction is the ANCC Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) Summit and the annual ANA Enterprise Research Symposium on October 28 – 29 which directly precede the ANCC National Magnet and Pathway Conference. During this conference, thousands of attendees join from across the globe to showcase the rigor of contemporary nursing practice and recognize nurses, healthcare systems and hospitals for high-quality nursing.

Educational Events and Research: Job Opening: Nursing Instructor, LPN Program

Reporting to the Director of Allied Health, the incumbent will teach practical nursing discipline specific courses using a variety of methodologies. Responsibilities will include course preparation and instruction; curriculum development; program and class recruitment; participation in the on-campus college community and continued professional growth activities; and creative program building based on needs assessment and in collaboration with other faculty and staff.

The successful staff member recognizes that service to our students is our highest priority, and embraces their role in student success, recruitment, and retention. This includes being open to a variety of delivery methods and course design with the possibility of interactive, online, day, evening, weekend classes and/or teaching at various College locations. In addition, faculty should be open to both traditional (16 week) and compressed course design (i.e., 8-week classes). Staff can expect to participate in innovative forms of assessment and should be willing to utilize OER when possible.
