In 2023, IAFN was awarded a grant by the Office for Victims of Crime to establish SANE Regional Centers of Excellence (CoE) that prepare current and future SANEs for practice and can be replicated in other communities. IAFN will work closely with the University of Colorado Health Memorial Hospital (UCH-MH) Forensic Nurse Examiner Program to develop a preceptorship experience for didactically prepared SANEs that can be evaluated and replicated across three additional centrally-located, high-volume clinical sites, both hospital and community-based.
