My colleague, Maggie Barilka, SLP, and I are participating in a research study regarding practice patterns with tracheostomy patients among SLPs, RTs and RNs. The research study explores general knowledge and current practice patterns with tracheostomy patients between nursing staff, respiratory therapists, and speech-language pathologists. This study is being conducted by Susan Thibeault, Maggie Barilka, and myself at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. If you are comfortable with allowing me to share the information about this research study with your staff, interested respondents will complete one electronic survey. The results of this study may reveal where, if any, providers are most in concordance regarding management of tracheostomies and where gaps lie in order to highlight areas of future growth and interdisciplinary education to provide better care.
The survey will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
If you would like to fill out this survey online, please use this link to do so:

Feel free to send an e-mail (barilka@wisc.edu or acary@uwhealth.org) or call (608) 263-4796 with any questions or concerns.
Thank you so much for your time!
Respectfully,
Abigail Cary, MS CCC-SLP and Maggie Barilka MS CF-SLP
