ANA: Help for Nurses and Victims of Hurricane Ian

On Friday, September 30 Hurricane Ian, a category 4 hurricane, made landfall in Southwest Florida, with additional impacts over the following days across Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina.The areas is now in the process of active clean-up, search, and recovery.

 

ANA supports our nurses, families and communities that have personally and professionally impacted by this tragedy. We are grateful to learn that our leaders and members in Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina have fared well comparatively and are safe. As they recover from the devastating effects, here are some ways you can help and spread awareness.

Educational Events and Research: HPNA Phoenix, Death Cafe for Healthcare Professionals

The Phoenix Chapter of the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association is offering Death Cafe for healthcare professionals on November 3rd from 6-7pm Arizona time. This Death Café is run under the Death Café guidelines, no agenda, no set topics, no religious or cultural bias. This means a lightly structured space to have real conversations about death from either a personal or professional perspective. We recognize that healthcare providers often face unique experiences related to death and dying, and we want to honor those experiences in the Café. All who identify as healthcare providers are welcome to join. Learn more.

ANA: 2023 ANA Innovations Awards

ANA is now accepting applications for the 2023 ANA Innovation Awards, sponsored by Stryker. Winners receive $25,000 for the Individual Nurse Award and $50,000 for the Nurse-led Team Award. Innovations can include: educational interventions, products, devices, technology, research, businesses or programs, services, or new care models that improve health, health care or patient safety. Open to all nurses. Apply today! Applications are due on November 4.
