Weekly Update - March 27, 2025

Posted By Madi Moyer, Thursday, March 27, 2025

Congratulations

The National Caucus of Environmental Legislators has selected Senator Lauren Kuby (LD8) as Arizona’s State Lead for 2025-2026!  In this role, she will play a crucial part in fostering collaboration among state legislators on the environmental issues that affect all Arizonans and Americans.  As a Senior Global Futures Scientist at ASU, she has partnered with communities, nonprofits, and academic experts to develop climate solutions, co-authored socioecological research, and directed the University's Stardust Center for Affordable Homes and Families. Although she retired from ASU in 2023, she continues to serve as a Global Futures Scientist.

Readers Requested

Have you read or are you interested in reading the ‘Heat Will Kill You First – Life and Death on a Scorched Planet’, by Jeff Goodell, AND being part of our group review column? Like a book club, we are collecting readers. However, those who read or will read this book by July 1st can meet via Zoom to discuss and write a brief review for a collective review published by the AzNA Climate Change and Health Workgroup in an upcoming Arizona Nurse issue. To participate or ask additional questions, contact us at aznacchworkgroup@gmail.com.
