AzNA President

Sherrie Palmieri, DNP, MBA, RN, CNE, NPD-BC, CPHQ
President

I believe quality in nursing and healthcare is improved through a commitment to excellence, innovation, and advocacy. My beliefs are aligned with the mission of AzNA, which is to Support the Advancement of the Nursing Profession to Promote a Healthy Arizona. My beliefs are also aligned with the mission of the ANA Enterprise, which is to Lead the Profession to Shape the Future of Nursing and Health Care. Because I hold these beliefs, I actively serve on several nursing boards and commissions with significant involvement in the ANA at the local, state, and national levels.

Qualities I bring to the role of serving as the Vice President of the Arizona Nurses Association include strategic planning, systems leadership, stewardship, collaboration, and inclusivity. I would promote and support the work of the board to align with the AzNA’s strategic initiatives and priorities while being nimble to respond to emergent issues that arise to meet the needs of the membership.

At the national level, it has been an honor and pleasure to serve on the ANA Professional Policy Committee since January 2018 and be elected as the Chair for my final term ending December 2022. During my tenure on the committee, I have participated fully in meetings and attended ANA Membership Assembly each year. At the state level, I was elected to serve on AzNA Bylaws Committee from 2020-2021 and re-elected to serve 2022-2023. At the state level, I was also elected to serve on the AzONL Board of Directors from 2020-2022. At the local level, I was elected to serve as Vice President for the AzNA Central Arizona Chapter in 2020, 2021-2022. .
