Diabetes Is Primary will address evidence-based, peer-reviewed clinical data and expert options on quality diabetes management. This program will offer information and tools needed to improve patient outcomes through usage of new clinical practices, treatment protocols and better patient engagement. This program was developed by the national Primary Care Advisory Group for health care professionals, including primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, dietitians, pharmacists and other health care professionals providing care to patients living with or at-risk of developing diabetes. Diabetes Is Primary will offer up to six (6) continuing education credits featuring the following topics: Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes, Prediabetes and Type 2 Diabetes Prevention, Psychosocial Care for People with Diabetes, How to use the Type 2 Diabetes Treatment Algorithm, Cardiovascular Risk and Treatment Options, Tailoring Treatment to Reduce Disparities, and Obesity Management in Type 2 Diabetes.
