Webinar: Safeguarding Access to Clean Drinking Water in Arizona - Uranium Mining & Health
Date/Time: August 27th, 2020 @ 4 pm PT
While the United States has one of the safest drinking water supplies in the world, there are still many communities that lack access to safe and clean drinking water. Aging water infrastructure, climate change, and environmental pollution all further threaten to affect access to clean water, particularly for low-income communities and communities of color. On this webinar, speakers will highlight some of the biggest challenges that impact water supply in communities in Arizona, with a focus on uranium mining and health. There's a long legacy of contamination from uranium mining across Arizona, which threatens the health of state residents. Nurses will be provided with tools and resources to understand this complex issue and learn more on how they can take action to support healthier water and protect against the threat of uranium mining. Free nursing CE provided.
