If you are a nurse (including nurse practitioners), faculty member, educator, administrator, or midwife who worked in any role and capacity between March 2020 and December 2023, you meet the inclusion criteria and are invited to participate in a study looking at long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the nursing and midwifery workforce. You are still eligible to participate even if you have stopped working as a nurse or midwife now but worked during that period.
Many participants have reported that completing the survey questions was therapeutic and helped them to process their experiences. All responses are anonymized, and no traceable data is collected to meet European Union data privacy standards. We estimate it will take you between 10 to 20 minutes to complete the survey. We also ask questions in free-text format, so please write as much as you like. The details in these responses to date have yielded significant insights into pandemic response implementation.
You can participate in and contribute to the survey here.
If you have any questions about the study, please feel free to contact Allison Squires at aps6@nyu.edu.

As each new generation enters the nursing profession, they bring different needs, priorities, and values. As Millennial nurses move into leadership roles and Gen Z nurses enter the profession, ANA is committed to listening and understanding the feedback from younger nurses so we can better support and help them succeed in their nursing careers.
Please help us understand you and your generation by completing this anonymous survey. It should take less than 10 minutes to complete, and your input will help ANA evolve and grow to better serve you and your generation of nursing professionals. This survey is open to both members and non-members of ANA and your state nurses association, and we are very interested in hearing from younger, non-member nurses.
TAKE THE SURVEY

What is mindful eating? Contrary to popular belief, it’s not just about chewing slowly and paying attention to flavors. It's an approach that goes beyond what's on your plate. Mindful eating is deeply rooted in being present, appreciating each sensation, and building a connection between your mind and body.
The research shows that when you eat and drink mindfully, you benefit from:
- Reduced anxiety and weight gain
- Improved emotional eating and binge eating behaviors[HH1]
- A nonjudgmental attitude towards food
- A higher diet quality and healthier snack choices
- Improved eating behaviors, such as recognizing fullness and controlling overeating
Over the course of 10 days, the goal of this challenge is to turn your relationship with food into a source of joy, nourishment, and balance. We’ll do this through simple, manageable changes that — through repetition and dedication — may someday become healthy habits.
Get ready to discover the magic of mindful portions — where each bite is a step toward a healthier, more harmonious you.
Are you ready? Sign up today!
