Fallen Nurses Tribute

The Fallen Nurses Tribute is AzNA's recognition of fallen nurses and healthcare providers. These names are collected from reports, obituaries, and individual submissions (see below).

AzFFN's Fallen Nurses Tribute

Began May 12, 2021, the Arizona Foundation for the Future of Nursing in partnership with the Arizona Nurses Association provides an annual tribute to healthcare providers lost during the previous 12 months. In 2021, this tribute was held via a live facebook video (see Fallen Nurses Tribute tab for more information).

At the same time, AzFFN announced a partnership with Better Place Forest in Flagstaff, Arizona to build a "Nurses Memorial" recognizing Arizona's fallen nurses and healthcare providers.

Nightingale Tribute
The Nightingale Tribute is ANA's annual recognition of fallen nurses.
May 11th, 2020
The International Council of Nurses, World Health Organization, Nursing Now, and American Nurses Association jointly recognize May 11th as Remember Health Heroes Day. On this day, they ask ones and all to take part in a moment of reflection to honor the memory of nurses and health workers who have died.
Submit a Fallen Nurse
The names of those submitted will be honored in the annual tribute held on during National Nurses Month in May.

Better Place Forests
Better Place Forests is creating North America's first conservation memorial forests for families who choose cremation. Their mission is to inspire everyone to leave a meaningful legacy for the planet and the people they love.
Our Partnership
In May 2021, AzFFN announced a partnership with Better Place Forests to build a memorial recognizing Arizona's fallen nurses and healthcare providers who lost their lives as part of their service during the global COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. The memorial is set to be built in Better Place Forests Flagstaff, a 160-acre forest.
The Memorial
Recognize a healthcare hero who has served in Arizona by donating to have their name commemerated as part of The Arizona Nurses Association Memorial situated within Better Place Forests Flagstaff.
Giving
Support Better Place Forests and AzFFN in creating the memorial to honor fallen nurses from across Arizona
