Carolina Mendez, MSN, AGACNP-BC, FNP-C, RNFA, CCRN, CFRN, CNRN

Carolina Mendez is a dual board-certified Nurse Practitioner in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care and Family Practice with nearly two decades of nursing experience spanning critical care, trauma, and community health. She is a recognized leader and advocate dedicated to advancing nursing leadership, health equity, and diversity within the profession.

Carolina serves as Education Chair and Board Member for the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) Phoenix Chapter and as Co-Chair of NAHN’s national Policy and Advocacy Committee. In these roles, she has championed initiatives that strengthen mentorship, promote cultural humility, and elevate the voice of Hispanic nurses in policy and practice. She has also served as Community Outreach Chair, where she expanded partnerships and increased community engagement efforts.

In addition to her professional practice, Carolina volunteers with the American Red Cross Department of Health Services, supporting Arizona communities and deploying nationally during emergencies.

As Director-at-Large for AzNA, Carolina brings a collaborative and inclusive approach to leadership. She is passionate about empowering nurses across specialties to lead with purpose, amplify their voices, and drive innovative solutions that improve patient outcomes and advance the nursing profession statewide.
